Research and body painting ideas

To develop my project further, I thought about the way in which I could show structures in a more visual way.

when doing some research and it occurred to me that the artwork created by Bruce Riley (the artist) are natural occurring structures. The vibrant colours and layers of shape are what made these structures so eye catching.

To connect this piece of research to my work, I decided to work together with a make up artist (Chloe) to create our own set of structures on the human body.
Having explained to Chloe my ideas she sent me some drawings of potential ideas.

When out and about location hunting, I came across this work of art on the left which was painted on the side of a building. The colours and repetition of circles reminded me a lot of the artists cell work above. Chloe then draw from this image a style of make up that would be done to replicate this image.
In post production I thought I could merge the two final images together to create a layered image, which represents the layered cell.

The image below is also based upon the cell work as seen above.
